OnePlus already has hopped on the 5G bandwagon, but that is just the McLaren edition. According to latest reports, however, the company is planning something bigger. Some sources reveal that a new concept phone from OnePlus has received certification from Radio Regulatory Authority, China. This new device would be coming with 100W charging and 5G connectivity among other things. While 5G connectivity is confirmed via the certification document, 100W charging is just a rumor at this point. We cannot, however, even rumor whether this phone could be OnePlus 8 or 8 Pro.
Everything that we know about this OnePlus Concept Phone is based on the information Radio Regulatory Authority has published recently. As per this, the device would be having dual-mode 5G with SA and NSA. In addition to these, 5G bands such as N1/N41/N78/N79 would also be supported by this device in the longer run. One thing to be noted is that the approval from RRA is one of the first step in making a device available commercially. OnePlus would have to go through multiple steps before it can launch the new device for truly public access. This is why the new phone is still being considered a concept device.
In other news, sources had confirmed that the company is planning to launch OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro in May of next year while others said that CES 2020 would be chosen as the launch platform for both devices. In the past couple of years, OnePlus has been making an extensive entry to the United States along with focusing on south Asian markets like India. If the rumor about 100W fast charging is proven to be true, though, this new OnePlus phone would be a great contender to every flagship device in the market.
